USAID Library Hours and Contact Information

All research, clearance, and due diligence requests must be submitted through Service Now.

The physical USAID Library remains closed, but all electronic resources and librarian assistance remain available online.

The library is temporarily located in room B03.06H in the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. Staff are available to assist with knowledge and information services Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST. Connect with the library by email at dataservicesrequest@usaid.gov.

The USAID Library is a part of USAID Data Services in M/CIO.

Library Services

The library is temporarily closed due to COVID-19.  Library staff are working from home and can be contacted via email at dataservicesrequest@usaid.gov.

  • Due diligence support - Company research support for making sound determinations. To request a due diligence package, please fill out this Service Now form.
  • Training in Electronic Resources - Get a leg up from the library staff in using our wide array of resources.
  • Interlibrary loan - Ask for books or articles not in the Library's collection.
  • News alerts and TOC delivery - Customized news alerts for development topics of interest. Table of contents delivered to your inbox from titles in our e-journal collection.
  • Factiva Reader account - Access to current articles from the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Economist and a number of other national and international new sources. Receive daily e-mail alerts on topics of interest. You may submit a request for a login to this service by submitting a Service Now ticket.
  • Subscribe to New Books in the USAID Library and stay in the loop on all Library updates, resources, and events.
  • Request a Country Briefing Package and get up to speed on current news and sectors of interest to you. Alternatively, for a quick overview request a Country Express.  To request either package, please click on this link to Service Now. Choose Country Briefing or Country Express as your Request/Issue and fill in the required fields.

HCTM materials in the USAID Library

HCTM houses DVD's, a fiction collection and language materials in the USAID Library. The library is located on the B3 level (B03-06H) of the Ronald Reagan Building. The hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 9 am to 5:00 pm with the exception of Federal holidays.

The following resources are provided for USAID staff and can be requested by e-mailing dataservicesrequest@usaid.gov.

  • Language training materials on CD-ROM as well as online access to Rosetta Stone and Mango Languages.
  • Travel and culture guides.
  • Videos, and select country-specific movies and documentaries.
  • The Literature collection including fiction, biographies and travelogues set in the developing world.
  • Management and career development books.

The following materials can be found at the Washington Learning Center in Crystal City.

  • Foreign-language magazines and newspapers
  • General management resources and management training materials
